I love working on educational, environmental and community-based freelance projects.

My clients include the National Trust, Plastic Free.Period, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Hauser & Wirth Somerset. From maps and trails… to booklets, website animations and billboards, I can help you with the illustration, design, production and printing.

Here you will find a selection of recent lovely projects. If you require any references please let me know and I’ll put you in touch.

Hauser & Wirth

Illustration & Design of a Pumpkin Trail/Treasure Hunt + Event

For Hauser & Wirth I created an epic Pumpkin Trail treasure hunt for the annual pumpkin festival at Durslade Farm in Somerset. The treasure hunt includes all kinds of traditional folky harvest characters including corn dolls, morris dancers and gurt worms! This wonderful project culminated in a beautiful event at the farm where the Lost Giant puppet makers led a mystical harvest procession.

Green and Healthy Frome

Illustration, Design & Production of Billboard

My client wanted to create a 6 metre-long billboard which would show Green and Healthy habits being shared and communicated across the town. They specifically hoped for an artwork which would invite people to participate. My response was to create a space for people to stand and blow a dandelion - with the ‘seeds of change’ travelling across town and around the river. This was a really successful project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

The National Trust

Illustration & Design for print

I’m a registered National Trust Illustrator/Designer and recently worked on a large informative landscape panorama depicting all the historic landmarks viewed from the beautiful Parminters House across Exeter and Exmouth. I also created a Summer Family Trail/Map for A la Ronde.

Green and Healthy Frome

Illustration & Animations for web, print & film

For this client I provided a full library of illustrations for their full brand refresh. These illustrations (a wide selection of animated gifs, still illustrations and infographics - provided in a variety of formats) were used for their new website launch as well as in short films; on social media and print. I worked with Working Progress animation studio to turn my landscape illustration into an impactful animated banner for the GHF website.

The Trinity Tree

Design and painting of mural

This was an exciting project - a collaboration between myself and graffitti artist Paul Boswell, with the help of our scaffolding hero Rachel MaClay! We designed this mural in response to a brief: to create an artwork to compliment the new local community garden. The Trinity Tree represents our local history and our connection to nature… whilst the Griffin represents an element of rebellion - something this community has experienced in various forms including the dramatic campaign that saved early Stuart and Georgian homes from the bulldozers in the 1960s.

Building A Village

Illustration & Design of book cover (with interior illustrations to follow)

For this book the brief was to create a diverse and eclectic community of characters based in an urban London neighbourhood, to illustrate a this parent-child journal written and created by Laura Bassett.

Milk Street Green

Illustrated interpretation of 2D map

The brief for this project was to transform garden plans into visuals with character and personality.

The Kindness Connection

Illustration & Design for print and social media

For this lovely project for the Kindness Connection I illustrated a selection of characters - old and young - enjoying time together making music! I then designed posters and some templates for the client to use on social media.

Great Ormond Street

Illustration, Design & Production of map

It’s important for patients and families visiting Great Ormond Street Hospital to feel relaxed and welcome. The team at GOSH asked for an illustrated foldable trail to celebrate their local green spaces - including a newly opened garden within the hospital. The result was a poetic trail taking visitors around the hospital and surrounding areas on side 1, and a series of activities to enjoy on side 2. The poem was written by author Lucy Reynolds.

The Story Invention Station

For this project I worked with StoryTeller Tom at Terrestrial to create some fun activites to be shared around libraries. I illustrated a fun activity pack for Libraries to download and print.

Would you like to discover ways to invent stores and Illustrate them? You can download a pack to print at home here.

Tales from the Orchard

Exhibition submission - Height Chart and Matching Game to celebrate the apple! Exhibited at the Gallery at the Station, Frome, 2024

Mojo Moves

Illustration/Design of Dance Instructions

The brief was to create a series of easy-to-understand dance instructions to the tune of ‘Treat People with Kindness’ by Harry Styles! I recreated the wonderful comedy-dance-instructor Cheryl Sprinkler of Mojo Moves as an illustrated character and drew her in a series of poses… all to run alongside her dance tutorial!
