I am an illustrator based in Frome, Somerset - UK.

I’ve had a love for visual storytelling ever since I was a little girl - when I used to carry my sketchbook everywhere I went…

I was born in Stoke-on-Trent - a town known for it’s beautifully-patterned pottery. After school I studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Art, and then went on to enjoy a career in magazine publishing.

Nowadays I combine my fine art background with playful and colourful design, by working as an illustrator!

My work is inspired by craft and folklore, and created by combining pencil drawings with digital art and collage. I love layering my illustrations with delicate textures which have been curated from sketches and close-up photographs (of bark, moss, metal, fabrics, rust, water reflections, anything...). I can’t go for a walk for long before stopping to catch the beauty of some light on a leaf…

Whether it be for a book, a billboard, a map, a booklet, website or animation… I love to illustrate and design for a variety of purposes - especially environmental and community-based projects. I’ve had wonderful feedback from The National Trust, Plastic-Free.Period, Green and Healthy Frome, The Kindness Connection, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and many more… you can find more information about my recent projects here.

 
 

As well as illustrating and designing for a wide range of clients, I love to run art clubs and to work on independent art projects with schools and community groups too. I have a strong belief that exploring art and creativity is crucial to enriching a child’s experience at school, and so my projects are designed to help children explore new topics in a fun and creative way.
